Deepanwita Chattopadhyay developed the most successful Life Science Research Park in India, in Hyderabad. She pioneered a Hardware Product Incubator and Makerspace, IKP EDEN, in Bangalore and works with global and Indian partners to nurture and fund over 270 innovators and early startups. In 2018 she was awarded the “Top Women Achievers of the Year 2017 in Asia” by AsiaOne Business Magazine and “Women of the Decade in Life Sciences & Innovation” by the Women Economic Forum.

 

Deepanwita Chattopadhyay did her B. Tech & M. Tech in Radio Physics & Electronics from Calcutta University, India and was a senior research fellow at the Centre for Applied Research in Electronics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. After brief stints as faculty at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, BITS, Pilani and as freelance writer and editor of science material for children, she joined the telecom advisory practice of ICICI Bank Ltd. in 1994. She advised both government agencies and the private sector on telecom regulation & policy, convergence issues, market forecasts and entry strategies. She was deputed to IKP Knowledge Park as its CEO in August 2001.

 

Deepanwita Chattopadhyay is the Founder Chairman of Support Elders Pvt. Ltd. She is the President of IKP EDEN and a Director on the Boards of IKP Trust, IKP Investment Management Company and TiE Hyderabad Chapter. She is a Member of the Governing Council of the Lucknow Biotech Park, IIT Hyderabad i-TIC Incubator, NCCS Atal Incubation Centre, Pune, Committee of the Prime Minister’s Fellowship for Doctoral Research, DBT Committee on Biotech Parks, CII National Committee on Biotechnology, NCR Bio Cluster, Telangana Biotechnology Council and the Society for Technology Managers (STEM). She also served as an international Director on the Board of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) for 2 years till May 2012.

M. Jean-Michel DALLE is the Managing Director of Agoranov, a leading science-based deeptech incubator in Europe located in Paris, and a Full Professor at Sorbonne University (formerly known as Université Pierre et Marie Curie – UPMC). Over the past decade, Agoranov’s incubation and acceleration program has given birth to 350+ innovative startups, among which numerous success stories such as Criteo (NASDAQ: CRTO), Anevia, Biophytis and Pixium (listed on Euronext), Doctolib, Aldebaran Robotics, etc. These companies altogether represent 7000+ direct active jobs and have raised 700+ M€ from private investors. M. Dalle is one of the 6 non-ministerial members of France’s Innovation Council and a Vice-President of RETIS, the French national association of technology parks and incubators.

 

Prof. Dalle teaches the economics and the management of innovation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship. Under the auspices of Sorbonne University, he leads EIT Digital’s Activity dedicated to the production and dissemination of online “innovation and entrepreneurship” contents, now used by 15+ universities across Europe. He is also a member of EIT Health’s Strategic Education Board and a co-founder of the IREN Master’s program, cosponsored by CentraleSupelec, Ecole Polytechnique, Telecom ParisTech, University Paris Dauphine and University Paris Saclay. His research, both theoretical and empirical, has been funded by France’s ANR and CNRS, European Framework Programs and by the NSF in the USA (in collaboration with Stanford University), and published in leading journals and conferences.

 

M. Dalle graduated from Ecole Polytechnique (MSc), ENSAE (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Analyse Economique, MSc) and EHESS (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, MA) and holds a PhD in economics, also from Ecole Polytechnique. He is a former Visiting Fellow of All Souls College and of Oxford Internet Institute, both at the University of Oxford.

Catherine leads on innovation, inward investment, and Business Durham communications, and is also Director of the North East Satellite Applications Centre of Excellence. Catherine heads up the ‘Durham Smart County’ project, which systematically applies open innovation thinking to entrenched challenges, e.g., health inequalities, and opens them up to stimulate new innovative activity in the private sector.

Ebba Lund holds an MA in Media Studies from the University of Aarhus, Denmark, and an Executive MBA from IE Business School, Madrid, Spain. She is currently Chief Operations Officer at the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP).

 

At IASP she is especially involved in membership services and event management and has been the contact point for IASP members organising IASP world conferences and regional events for more than 10 years. She also acts as Coordinator of the Steering Committee Secretariat of IASP World Conferences.

Other key areas of Ebba Lund’s role at IASP are international relations, matchmaking, communication, business opportunities for STPs and their companies and general support to a global membership of Science/Technology Parks and Areas of Innovation in more than 70 countries.

Rafael Prikladnicki is the director of Tecnopuc (PUCRS’ science and technology park), located in Porto Alegre, south of Brazil since 2013.

 

He is also professor in the School of Technology at PUCRS.

 

He holds a PhD degree in computer science from PUCRS and was visiting professor at the University of Victoria, Canada, from 2006 to 2007. In 2011, he received the PhD innovation award, promoted by FAPERGS (the state of Rio Grande do Sul funding agency) for his innovative research on global software engineering, conducted in collaboration with companies at Tecnopuc.
In 2018 he was recognized with the Senior Researcher award from the Software Startups Global Research Network. He has published several papers in qualified conferences and journals and has published three books and several book chapters related to his research interests (which includes global software engineering, agile methodologies, innovation ecosystems and software startups).

 

He is currently chair of the advisory board of the IEEE Software magazine, one of the top magazines in the field of Software Engineering.

Luis Sanz (Spain, 1952) has been Director General of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation since 1996, and member of its Executive Board.

 

A trained sociologist, he is an expert consultant and senior advisor to different Science Parks worldwide and chief co-ordinator of more than 20 international conferences on Science and Technology Parks, regional development and innovation policies.

He is the author of numerous papers, books, articles and presentations on this topic and has participated as an invited speaker in over 80 international conferences and seminars all over the world.

 

Formerly he was the co-director of Valencia Technology Park (Spain) which he founded in 1987 and he has been Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Science Parks and President of the European Division of the IASP.

Luis Sanz is also the head co-ordinator of the World Alliance for innovation (WAINOVA).

Prior to this « Innovation period”, Jean-François Balducchi spent 12 years in the Oil and Gas industry and held various executive positions with Total, Oil and Gas Company (Paris Headquarters and Overseas subsidiaries) (1981-1992), mainly in the upstream and gas sectors.

 

From 1979 to 1981, he worked at the Automatic and Computer Sciences Laboratory of Ecole des Mines de Paris.
